{Daily Life...Kiddos}

Well, I tried to get a post up before this...please forgive me for taking so long! Things have been busy lately...just daily life mainly. It's been great though!
This post, is just going to be random pictures of the kids throughout the past few weeks.

A couple weeks ago, D was making thank you cards so N wanted to do it too.

Then I put this really cute headband on N and took some pictures. It's not easy to take pictures of a 17 month old...especially one who's constantly on the move.

Then I found the boys playing on the veranda (front porch), so I took some pictures of them. They are so cute!!

They are best friends....and sometimes worst enemies.

They love climbing the veranda wall...there's a little ledge that they step on.

{Baby's Here!!}

Due to lack of stable internet, this post is a week or so late...soooo there'll be a lot more pictures. :D But, besides unstable internet, everything is going very well here!
Baby J is 2 weeks on Sunday!!!! He was born Sunday, January 30th, and he was 9 lbs 1 oz! Since he is about 2 weeks old, I have pictures from the last couple of weeks, so even in the 2 weeks he's changed so much!

Here he is just 2 days old...

Then here he is, awake, at a week old....isn't his outfit so cute!

They dedicated him this past Sunday so that R's mom could be here for it. (she left today ) It was really special!!

Before going to church we took some family pictures, and here's one of my favorites. :D

Well, it's hard to believe he's really here, but he is, and he is such a cutie!! For the most part he is not fussy, and has been sleeping pretty well at night. The kids love him, and are so excited he's here!!

I will be posting in a few days...I really will be!!! There'll be lots of pictures of the kids and a few more.

{February, Fruit, and More...}

Wow!! I can’t believe that it is February already!!! I’ve been here for three weeks, and I only have about 2 ½ months left here!
Well, yesterday morning baby J arrived and he is SO adorable!!! He weighed 9 lbs!! I’ll have to show you pictures soon. I haven’t taken any of him yet, but I will in the next few days or so.
So, I have a few pictures that I've taken in the past couple weeks. Since I mentioned it in my first post, I'm sure everyone is probably wondering...what is jackfruit?! Well, here's a picture of jackfruit!

Also, the family has many pineapple plants (about 150!) some of which are very close to being ready to pick!

See the little shoots coming out on the side of the pineapple? When the pineapple is picked, you cut these off and plant them to grow a new pineapple plant! This is one that still has a while.

Here are some tree tomatoes that we had with breakfast the other day.

They are delicious!! D loves them!

Oh yes, and here's a picture of banana trees.

They grow EVERYWHERE!! The bananas that grow on these trees are about 3 inches long. Here is a picture of a bunch of bananas that came off of one of their trees!!

They are so yummy!!!! (oh, and another random fact...there are at least 5 different kinds of bananas here: gonja, plantain (or matooke), indizi (the three inch ones), bagoya, and fia!)
As I mentioned before, we cook almost everything from scratch here...so if you want to have tacos, you have to make the salsa, the guacamole, shred the cheese, AND make the tortillas! So I now know how to make tortillas. :D We also have to make the pizza from scratch...no running to the store for frozen pizzas or to Little Caesars. That means make the dough, the sauce, etc. Here's a picture of one of the pizzas I made the other night. Here's when it was ready to go into the oven...

{Kiddos}

Hey All!!

I'm really sorry it's taken me so long to post an update...again!!! Hopefully I'll be posting a couple times this week...we'll see how things go. In the first post I said that I wasn't going to be able to post many pictures...well it was true. I tried to post a picture, and it wouldn't work, but I have a pretty awesome friend who's going to post for me so I can put up as many pictures as I want!!!!!! :D That way you can get a better feel of where I am and what I'm doing! (and like I always say, blogs are a lot more interesting with pictures!!

So, to start off, I'll show you some pictures of the cutie patooties that I'm taking care of. (the third one is coming soon!)

This is D!! He just turned 3 last Saturday!

He is such a big helper and a very sweet little guy. He likes climbing trees,

riding his boda (I'll have to show you a picture of that) it's a little bike/motorcycle, swinging on a hammock and the swing on the front porch, and playing with the boys next door.

This is N. She is an adorable 17 month old that is constantly on the go!!

She loves playing with her big brother with his trucks and going on the tire swing next door. She is learning new words every day and her favorite word is "owie". She also loves cows! I'll have to get pictures of those too!

{Update!!!}

Hello Everybody!! I know you've been waiting to hear from me, but I just haven't had the time to update yet, and the electricity here is not what it is back home. ;)

Well, I suppose you'd like to hear what i've been up to. ;) I'm sorry to say that there won't be any pictures in this post, and in the future pictures will be limited because of the internet here, but I'll try to post as many as I can! Since there won't be any pictures, I'll try to keep it brief, as long blog posts without pictures can get quite boring.

So...I arrived in Entebbe last Friday night (January 7th), and the next day we traveled back to the family's home. We stopped went through Kampala and stopped a few places on the way. It really is beautiful here (Uganda is known as the "pearl of Africa if you didn't know that :), and the weather lately has been amazing!! Usually in December-February it is very hot because it's the dry season. Usually it's in the 90s and very...you guessed it- dry!! :) There are many, many fruit trees here that don't grow where I live like, mango, banana (there are banana trees everywhere you look!), jack fruit, and there are lots and lots of pineapple plants too! The family has a garden with banana trees, lots of pineapple, tree tomatoes (which are quite delicious!), and much more!!

While I've been here, I've tasted many things I haven't before, things like jack fruit, sugar cane, tree tomatoes, passion fruit, matooke (steamed plantain (a type of banana)), papaya, milk tea, and a few more things which I can't remember at the moment.

The past week, has been great...I've been able to adjust pretty well! This past week C + R had a conference every day, so I was very busy taking care of the kids. D is almost 3, N is 17 months, and a new one coming any day!! :) It's been really fun taking care of them! Next door, there is another missionary family that has three boys, so we've been playing with them as well. (They have a really cool tree house that D loves to go in!:)

Here, all the adults are "aunts" and "uncles", so I'm auntie Danielle. :D

Well, this post is getting rather long, and I'm very sorry there are not pictures yet!
